Siberian and Canadian Arctic Tundra
The Arctic Tundra is located in the Northern Hemisphere. The tundra is located between two major biomes, taiga and the ice caps. Some small tundra like areas are located in the Southern Hemisphere, but seen as it is much colder and the ground is always covered in snow and ice. The tundra has very long and harsh winters and very short and abundant summers. Due to these conditions the Southern Hemisphere isn't a true Tundra form. Tundra comes from the Finnish word "tunturia" meaning the barren land. The tundra is a very fragile environment. In the extremely cold temperatures make it hard for the environment to survive and the animals have a hard time coping with the extra stresses. More people have been going to the tundras to work in the mining field and this causes problems with the animals. The animals usual ways and paths for getting food are being taken over by roads and civilization.
