Caribou
Caribou, or also known as reindeer. live in northern countires such as Canada, Russia, Finland, Norway and Swedan. The diet of a Caribou changes with the seasons. In the summer Caribou eat a variety of plants, such as willow leaves. In the winter Caribou have to dig, with their hooves, under the snow to eat the moss and lichens underneath the surface. Caribou are very well known for their large quantity while migrating. They migrate in search of food. Their fur and skin lets them go through rivers while migrating and their hooves allow them to dig up food.
The female Caribou usually weighs about 200 pounds. The male Caribou weighs about 600 pounds.
The Caibou both loose or shed their antlers, the male after mating season and the females after the summertime.
The Caribou mating season occurs in the fall and the females give birth in the spring, usually to one calf.
